THE CHALLENGE — Our customer required a 24-hour turnaround on a critical component and supplier they were using was taking too much time to produce the prototype part and expenses were running over budget.

THE MILTON MANUFACTURING SOLUTION — Milton is structured for rapid response, so this urgent request for assistance was nothing out of the ordinary for MILTON’s experienced prototyping team. Even before original CAD data was received, a skilled team of engineers and master machinists was hard at work on the project. The fixture-assembly strategy previously pursued by MILTON’s competitor was nixed in favor of a more streamlined, approach. Less bulk weight makes for less per-part cost.

THE RESULT — The revised unit is a better quality and went from fabrication to finishing in less than a day. Milton believes close-knit vendor relationships are crucial to any successful project, especially when it comes to logistics: Delivery was accomplished straight from the CARC paint plant, literally shaving several critical hours off the schedule


THE CHALLENGE — Our customer faced a nagging problem: How to keep loose components in a vehicle from becoming dangerous projectiles.

THE MILTON MANUFACTURING SOLUTION — With fresh eyes, the in-house experts at MILTON configured a simple bracket mechanism that was readily adaptable to the vehicle’s original interior specifications.

THE RESULT — The oxygen tank and various other necessities are kept safe and secure – particularly on unexpected impacts. Milton is proud to sweat the small stuff.


THE CHALLENGE — The current design relied on imported latches and hinges which led to frequent delivery delays which rapidly became a costly production problem.

THE MILTON MANUFACTURING SOLUTION — MILTON took immediate action to rectify the situation, redesigning the hinge and latch to be in-house fabricated components. The punching, stamping, machining, welding and painting operations were streamlined to meet the increasing delivery requirements.

THE RESULT — The new latch & hinge are less complicated to produce, produced domestically, lighter in weight and lower in piece price and reduced logistics expense. Plus the new designs feature stronger support capabilities, greater durability and a more precise tolerances. Even better, the improved production efficiencies and TOC scheduling methodologies eliminated costly production delays.
